White House redirects all border wall contractors to build wall around Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In an attempt to avoid long-drawn-out legal battles with contractors who were ordered to cease building the Trump border wall between the United States and Mexico, President Joe Biden ordered all border wall contractors and resources to immediately move to Washington, D.C.

“Walls don’t work,” Biden said.  “They don’t stop COVID-19 and they don’t stop illegal immigrants from crossing our southern border.”

Biden did say, “But we have found in my first month that walls do work when it comes to keeping American citizens out of our nation’s Capitol and that’s why I have ordered a Trump style border wall to be built around the entire city of Washington, D.C.”

The wall will be twenty-two feet in height and stretch for approximately 25 miles around the squared land border that divides Washington, D.C., and the State of Maryland.

On the Potomac River side of the city, Biden said a series of armed checkpoints will be constructed at all bridge crossings, complete with Bradley fighting vehicles and pillboxes with intersecting lines of sight along the city’s entire length along the river.

Biden has tapped Russ Cargill as head of the newly formed D.C. Border Patrol Unit and said 20,000 National Guard troops will serve under the direction of Cargill for the next four years.  Cargill has presented preliminary plans to build a dome around Washington, D.C. which work is expected to begin in 2022.
